No New Wells in Santa Barbara County

As people of faith from multiple traditions, our work with allied local environmental organizations is grounded in the conviction that we are stewards, not owners of this sacred Earth that sustains us. It is our duty to protect the living systems we inhabit from destructive practices that disproportionately harm poor and minority communities.
Cat Canyon Santa Barbara

Last month, we shared the good news that Aera has withdrawn its request for the fracking project in Cat Canyon. Now the next company with a similar agenda is TerraCore. We will continue our struggle to preserve the water and livability of Cat Canyon. We can use more involvement of people of faith in this ongoing effort to defeat the trucking project of Exxon and these fossil fuel companies harming the people and land.

We need to continue putting pressure on our leaders to stop Terracore’s proposal to drill over 200 new oil wells. We can still stop this pipeline and prevent hundreds of new wells from coming to our county if we stick together as a unified community.

Click here to send a message to the Board of Supervisors to reject Terracore’s plan to expand oil drilling in our county.
